Lose Belly Fat

The number one area that most people want to improve on themselves is their stomach area. They want to lose belly fat. They want six pack abs. They want a flat stomach. Why is this area so hard to lose weight from?

Because belly fat is the last fat on your body to be lost. Your body holds onto it to help protect your internal organs, this dates back to ancient times when we were in battles and fighting for our food. Because belly fat is so difficult to lose, it is the ultimate sign of a high level of fitness when a person has six pack abs.

So how do they get it? And is it possible to lose belly fat only by working out? The answer is: yes and no. Following a specific workout routine with a good selection of stomach exercises will help to shape the abdominal muscles. But to actually lose the belly fat, you must do cardio and follow a healthy eating program.

The best type of cardio for fat loss is circuit training. This type of training is intense, and involves intervals of high intensity cardio mixed with lower intensity recovery cardio. By shocking the body, it makes the body work harder and therefore leads to more calories burned, and in the end you will lose belly fat. This is a challenging type of training but it is very effective.
Here is an example of a good belly fat burning workout routine that includes circuit training and stomach exercises:
5 minutes: warm up with an easy jog
30 seconds: run as fast as you can
30 seconds: walk or jog to bring your heart rate down
30 seconds: hold a plank pose, working up to holding it for one minute
30 seconds: walk or jog

Repeat the 30 second intervals 6 times. Once you get more advanced you can repeat the intervals up to 10 times. You can also substitute in sit ups for the plank pose if you like.

It is also important to follow a workout program that includes a weight lifting routine. Weight lifting burns a lot of calories, and helps to build muscle. The more muscle a person has, the more calories they burn during the day, because a muscular person burns more calories than a fat person of the same weight. So building muscle is a good thing to help you lose belly fat.
The best healthy eating program to follow is one that is low in calories and low in fat.

Fast food will not help you to lose belly fat. Focus on a diet that includes lots of green vegetables, protein, healthy fats, and whole grains. By eating a diet that has less processed foods, your belly fat will disappear! Be sure to eat regularly throughout the day, every 3 to 4 hours is best to keep your metabolism high and to stop you from having cravings for junk food.
